Parent Responsibilities and Expectations

  • School Fees should be paid as follows:
    • First installment: June
    • Second installment: September
    • Third installment: December

Note: Your child will not be accepted into the school without fees being paid up to date.

  • The school follow specific policies to ensure benefit for all involved parties, changes in polices are only allowed through the school board, in addition to, instructions from the Ministry of Education & British Council.
  • School uniform is mandatory for all students within the school premises. It must be worn smartly and kept clean and neat.
  • Hair should be kept neatly tied back for girls and cut short for boys.
  • Girls are only allowed to wear studs or small hooped earrings; any other jewellery will be confiscated and kept in the department principal office.
  • All children need to come with the supplies requested on the supplies lists in this handbook. Children without the required supplies will not join into the allocated activities.
  • All children are expected to be at school on all school days specified in the school calendar. Unless genuinely ill, being absent is frowned upon, recorded and will be reviewed if deemed necessary.
  • All children need to be at school by 7:45AM, late arrivals will be recorded and reviewed if deemed necessary.
  • All children need to be picked up by 2:00PM. All children are to be collected before 3:00PM, unless they are attending after-school activities. As past this time all teaching staff will have vacated the building.
  • All appointments need be made by phone call to the office. No one will be accepted for a meeting without a documented appointment.
  • It is forbidden for teaching staff of British City College to tutor children from the school privately.
  • Communication with teachers is not accepted apart from in Teacher/Parent Meetings or unless organised through the Department Principal.
  • To insure that children’s homework is completed when due.
  • To insure children are fed breakfast before coming to school.
  • To insure that children come to school with a healthy packed lunch, as specified in this handbook.
  • To insure that children have a minimum of 10 hours sleep a night.
  • To insure that children are watching age appropriate TV programs.
  • To insure children are not exposed for long periods of time to the internet and play station, and never left un-attended.
  • To insure that children are clean and hygienic.
  • To insure that children have a well-planned routine.
  • To reinforce good manners, core morals, values and desirable behavior.

To reprimand and punish bad behavior.
